Canada Express Entry Draw Invites 250 Senior Managers with CRS 429
Canada has conducted another targeted Express Entry draw aimed at experienced professionals already working in the country. On March 5, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 250 candidates under the Senior Managers with Canadian Work Experience category to apply for permanent residence.
To receive an invitation in this round, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 429. This score determined the lowest-ranked candidate who received an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
IRCC also applied a tie-breaking rule dated August 19, 2025 at 15:10:18 UTC. Candidates with the same CRS score were ranked based on the time they submitted their Express Entry profiles. Only those who created their profiles before this time received invitations.

Why Canada Is Targeting Senior Managers
Canada often conducts category-based draws to bring in professionals who already understand the country’s work environment. Senior managers with Canadian work experience are valuable because they can immediately contribute to leadership roles across industries.
These professionals usually have proven experience managing teams, operations, and business strategy within Canada. By selecting them through Express Entry, the government ensures that experienced leaders remain in the country and support long-term economic growth.
How the CRS Score Works
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is used to rank candidates in the Express Entry pool. It assigns points based on factors such as:
- Age
- Education
- Language ability
- Canadian and foreign work experience
- Additional factors like job offers or provincial nominations
Tips to Improve Your CRS Score
If your CRS score is lower than the latest cut-off, you can still strengthen your profile by:- Improving IELTS or other language test scores
- Gaining additional Canadian work experience
- Completing higher education or certifications
- Applying through a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
What Happens After You Receive an ITA
Candidates who receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) must submit their complete permanent residence application within 60 days. This process typically includes submitting identity documents, proof of work experience, language results, medical exams, and police certificates.
Once the application is submitted, most Express Entry applications are processed within approximately six months.
