London, October 22, 2025 – The United Kingdom has announced another rise in fast-track immigration processing fees, effective October 21 (Tuesday). This latest update continues the government’s ongoing adjustments to visa and sponsorship costs introduced over the past two years.

Significant Fee Hikes for Expedited Services

The expedited processing of sponsorship management requests for worker, temporary worker, or student sponsors will now cost £350, marking a 75% increase from the previous £200.

Similarly, the priority service for sponsor licence applications has been raised to £750 (approximately ₹88,000), reflecting a 50% rise from £500.

These increases apply only to priority and fast-track applications, while standard processing fees remain unchanged.

Key Fee Changes

Service Previous Fee New Fee Increase
Sponsorship management request (worker, temporary worker, student) £200 £350 +75%
Priority service for sponsor licence application £500 £750 +50%
Standard processing Unchanged

Who Will Be Affected

There are no exemptions under the new rules. Both corporate sponsors and educational institutions managing visa applications will need to bear these additional costs. According to Fragomen, a global immigration law firm, these changes are designed to balance administrative expenses while maintaining service efficiency.

“These adjustments support faster adjudication timelines while maintaining service quality,” Fragomen noted in a statement.

Broader Context of Fee Increases

This announcement follows earlier hikes in charges for:
  • Certificates of Sponsorship
  • Skilled Worker and Visitor Visa applications
  • Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)

The UK government has justified these adjustments as necessary to sustain and modernize the immigration system.

Impact on Companies and Universities

With fees climbing, businesses and universities may need to rethink their visa processing strategies to control costs and timelines.

Experts suggest that organizations could explore standard processing options or long-term planning for sponsorship requests to mitigate the impact.

Furthermore, from 2026, UK universities will gain the ability to raise tuition fees annually in line with inflation, provided they meet strict quality benchmarks.

Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson stated that institutions failing to meet teaching or student support standards could face financial or regulatory penalties.

She also confirmed that maintenance loans will increase each year, offering more support to low-income students.
