Ontario Express Entry draw targets candidates with expertise in high-demand tech occupations

Ontario, Canada - The Ontario Immigration Nominee Program (OINP) announced that it has issued 748 invitations in its latest draw held on July 6, 2023. The draw, conducted under the Human Capital Priority Stream of the Ontario Express Entry system, targeted skilled immigrants with profiles created between July 6, 2022, and July 6, 2023.

The candidates who received invitations had Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores ranging between 479 and 485. In this draw, the program specifically focused on individuals with work experience in various high-demand occupations related to information technology and computer science.

Candidates with expertise in the following National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes were among the fortunate invitees:

➡ NOC 20012: Computer and information systems managers

➡ NOC 21211: Data Scientists

➡ NOC 21223: Database analysts and data administrators

➡ NOC 21230: Computer systems developers

➡ NOC 21231: Software engineers and designers

➡ NOC 21232: Software developers and programmers

➡ NOC 21233: Web designers

➡ NOC 21234: Web developers and programmers

➡ NOC 21311: Computer engineers (except software engineers and designers)

The Human Capital Priority Stream of the Ontario Express Entry system aims to attract highly skilled individuals who can contribute to Ontario's labor market and economy. Successful candidates invited in this draw will have the opportunity to apply for permanent residency in Ontario through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

The OINP, working in partnership with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), regularly conducts draws to select candidates from the pool of Express Entry profiles. The program assesses candidates based on various factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and adaptability.

The recent draw is part of Ontario's ongoing efforts to attract and retain top talent in key sectors, particularly in the ever-expanding field of technology. By targeting skilled immigrants in high-demand occupations, Ontario aims to meet its labor market needs and drive innovation in the province.

For individuals who were not selected in this draw, there will be further opportunities to receive invitations in future draws, provided they meet the program's criteria and have competitive CRS scores.

As the Ontario Immigration Nominee Program continues to play a vital role in Ontario's economic growth and diversity, it reaffirms its commitment to welcoming skilled immigrants who can contribute to the province's prosperity and enrich its communities.
