The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is set for a significant overhaul that will redefine how employers and candidates engage with the program—particularly in the Employer Job Offer categories.

Starting July 2, 2025, the OINP will launch a brand-new Employer Portal, shifting the process from being candidate-initiated to a fully digital and employer-driven system.

What’s Changing?

Until now, applicants would begin the process by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI). From July 2 onwards, that step will be initiated by the employer instead.

Key Highlights of the Change:

  • Employers must first log into the new portal and submit job offer details.
  • Only after the employer’s submission can a candidate proceed with EOI registration.
  • The update is aimed at making the process more efficient, secure, and employer-focused.

New Employer Portal – Features to Know

The redesigned portal aims to enhance the experience for employers by offering:

  • Seamless login via My Ontario for unified access
  • Secure, online submissions with live status updates
  • Built-in communication tools to connect directly with OINP officials
  • Smart autofill fields to minimize data errors
  • Document upload support for all required forms
  • Ability to assign multiple contacts or representatives within a company

Mark These Important Dates:

  • June 20–July 2: EOIs for Employer Job Offer streams will not be accepted
  • June 21–22: Existing EOIs in these categories will be withdrawn
  • June 27–29: Full system downtime across all OINP streams
  • July 2: Official launch of the Employer Portal

Which Streams Are Affected?

This update affects the following OINP Employer Job Offer streams:

  • Foreign Worker Stream
  • International Student Stream
  • In-Demand Skills Stream

Implications for Employers & Applicants

For Employers:
You now take the lead. It’s important to:

  • Create and manage your Employer Portal account
  • Provide precise job offer information
  • Stay in regular contact with your applicant and OINP

For Applicants:
You can no longer begin the application independently. Your employer must start by submitting details through the portal. Collaborate closely with your employer or a certified immigration expert to ensure your application is accurate and complete.

Added Benefit: Extended EOI Validity

Under the new system, EOIs will be valid for 12 months, allowing participation in multiple selection rounds—providing greater opportunity and flexibility.
