The new temporary sponsored Parent visa will now allow migrants to sponsor their parents with a taxable income of $83,454.80. This new law has taken many in a shock. This new legislative instrument has been declared by the Minister for Immigration, Citizenship & Multicultural Affairs Mr. David Coleman. He also specified the amount of monetary imposition.   Mr. Coleman announced, receiving of applications regarding sponsoring parents for this new visa will be opened from 17 April.   Once your sponsorship has been approved, the concerned parents will be able to apply for the Sponsored Parent visa, which is a temporary visa. The applications for this visa are expected to open by 1 July 2019.   With parents left behind by children, this Sponsored parent subclass 870 Visa, though being temporary is a boon to reunite with parents & grandparents to stay with their kith n kin together & continuously for up to five years. This is definitely a breath of respite for kids as well as their parents.   This golden opportunity gives you the liberty to apply for a second visa for more five years after the short period of stay outside Australia, that means your parents will be able to spend a cumulative 10 years in Australia with you.   But contrary to the first announcement of income mandate, for the second slot, the income requirements were not clear.   Brisbane- based Migration Suman Dua of Sirus Migration, affirmed that they are clear about the visa specifications that one needs to have a minimum income of $83,454.80 to be eligible for applying the new parents visa.   Ms.Dua also told SBS Hindi“an application fee for the three-year visa will be levied as $5000 whereas the sponsorship fees are a$420. Applicants will have to prove their income of $83,454.80. This income can be a joint income too”.   This temporary sponsored visa gives the parents of migrants a liberty to stay in Australia for a longer time.   However, with this mandatory rule of income cap inclusive of some other conditions have left some migrants opposed. Partly maybe because a lot of migrants may not fit into this income criteria.   A statement passed by Jasvinder Sidhu; a Melbourne-based community leader read as “this visa is discriminatory.   A large mass of migrants will not be able to afford such a high fee on the visa. The pre conditions mentioned in the visa are already stringent when compared to the normal visa. A health visa is also compulsory for this visa. It showcases as a discriminatory visa against migrants, says Mr. Sidhu   This type of long-term visa was drafted with the intention of reuniting families of some migrant communities in Australia. Mr. Arvind Duggal of Adelaide has been initiating this campaign to support the demands of such migrants. His views suggest that the new conditions make this visa expensive for many migrants.   Mr. Duggal questions why a visitor visa needs to have an income test?   “With an unfair fee structure, a visa is not helping the waiting migrant communities for a visa to bring their parents to the country. The set income bar is unnecessary.   The visa imposes a set of many harsh requirements to be able to sponsor one’s parents for the new visa, which is said to commence on 17th April 2019. It also specifies the need to fulfill the household income after having lived in Australia for at least four years.   Mr. Duggal worries for many migrants as they will not be able to suffice the income needs.   This income bar will almost impossible to manage for those who are unable to afford. For a visitor visa, the pre-requisitions are extremely difficult. The Australian Government had promised for a fair visa. This visa does not do that, “Mr. Duggal informed the SBS Hindi & stressed that the fight for a fair visa will not stop.”   Minister Coleman had recommended the rise in the cost of the Sponsored Parent visa as “reasonable cost”.   The minister added” it is important that the government runs a sustainable migration system under which the cost of the processing of the visa should be borne by both the taxpayers & the people who apply. Thus, making it a fair affair for the citizens of the country as well as people who have migrated but living for a long time.   We at Immigration experts are proficient in delivering par excellence client-oriented services in areas that are government aided or unaided by the government.
