The cut-off threshold of the <span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.immigrationxperts.com\/canada-immigration\/federal-skilled-worker-program\/\">Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score<\/a><\/strong><\/span> for this draw was 473 points. This is an all-program draw and therefore candidates across all Express Entry associated immigration programs are eligible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the previous draw, which took place on December 19, 2019, the CRS score cut-off score was 4 points less than the current one and was equivalent to 469 points.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The tie-breaking rule will be applied for the January 8 draw by the Immigration, refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), which implies that not all the eligible candidates who scored 473 points will be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA). As multiple candidates would be having 473 points, therefore those who have submitted their Express Entry profile in the pool prior to December 27, 2019 at 13:35:09 UTC will be given more priority.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What is the procedure for selecting candidates in the Canada Express Entry System?<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Express Entry System is Government of Canada\u2019s primary source of inviting skilled foreign workers. It was first introduced in the year 2015 with the purpose of managing pool of skilled and talented candidates for Canada\u2019s three federal high-skilled immigration streams. This includes \u2013 the <strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.immigrationxperts.com\/canada-immigration\/federal-skilled-worker-program\/\">Federal Skilled Worker<\/a><\/span><\/strong> Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Eligible candidates under each of these immigration programs are given a score using the <span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.immigrationxperts.com\/canada-immigration\/canada-comprehensive-ranking-crs-points-calculator\/\">Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) of Express Entry System<\/a><\/strong><\/span> which awards points to the candidates on the basis of human capital factors such as age, skilled work experience, education and English or French proficiency.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">While a job offer is a major requirement in order to become eligible for the Express Entry System, the CRS does not award any additional points to those candidates that have one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A set of candidates with highest-score are issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to apply for the permanent residency of Canada through the regular Express Entry draws from the pool, which generally takes place in every two weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Government of Canada has a standard processing time of six months for applications submitted towards the permanent residence visa grant and are filed through the Express Entry system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What is the reason behind the slight increase in the CRS cut-off score?<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The January 8 <span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.immigrationxperts.com\/canada-immigration\/all-express-entry-draws\/\">Express Entry draw<\/a><\/strong><\/span> was slightly higher than the previous round of invitation which held on December 19, 2019, which distributed 3,200 ITAs. The minimum <strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><a style=\"color: #003366;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.immigrationxperts.com\/canada-immigration\/canada-comprehensive-ranking-crs-points-calculator\/\">CRS cut-off score<\/a><\/span><\/strong> was also high as compared to the December 19 draw, which had a CRS cut-off score equivalent to 469.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The reason behind the minimum score in January 8 draw could be because of 20 days gap between the previous and the current Express Entry invitation round. He appeared for IELTS exam and scored 8 in all of the four components. While Siddharth has never studies or worked in Canada, still his CRS cut-off score of 473 would be considered as high enough to obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the Express Entry Draw which held on January 8, 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ranjan and Smita are married to each other for 5 years now and are 33 ad 29-years-old respectively. Both of them hold bachelor\u2019s degrees and speak French at an advanced level and have been working as accountants for three years. While neither of them has worked or studies before in Canada, Smita has a real brother who is a Canadian permanent resident residing in Alberta.
