These fields include cyber security, quantum computing, fintech and more, and are identified with an objective to maintain Australia\u2019s competitiveness in the global market.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">The Minister for Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Services David Coleman on Monday announced the implementation of Global Talent Independent Program or the GTIP, with an intention to attract some of the best talents across the world to Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">The program will surely attract approximately 5000 high-income professionals who are currently working in the top positions in their respective fields to Australia, between the period of July 2019 and until June 2020. This process would be operated within a different scheme that will be a fast-tracked version of the existing permanent residency program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">This process of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.immigrationxperts.com\/australia-immigration\/skilled-migration-visa\/\">permanent residency to Australia<\/a> is also separate from the \u201cglobal talent \u2013employer sponsored program\u201d or the GTES, which in turn was made permanent in August 2019 after launching it as a 12-month pilot program.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Therefore, only those migrants who are working in one of these seven \u201cfuture-focused technical fields\u201d, and are expected to earn higher than $149,000 annually in Australia are identified to be eligible for permanent residency under GTIP.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">These seven fields are AgTech, fintech, energy and mining technology, space and advanced manufacturing, cyber security, medtech, ICT and quantum information\/data science\/advanced digital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">However, inspections such as normal character, integrity and security checks will be undertaken similar to that of other migration programs. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">However, unlike other immigration programs, instead of waiting for migrants to apply for the fast-tracked immigration program, GTIP promptly seeks talent using the \u201cGlobal Talent Officers\u201d, through the Department of Home Affairs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">These officers are deployed at various business centers across the world, including Berlin, Singapore, Washington DC, Singapore, Santiago, Shanghai, New Delhi and Dubai, to help candidates through the complete application process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">In appreciation to same, Coleman has been reported to comment that this fast-tracked immigration process will take only weeks rather than months.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">The Home Affairs also reassured that the migrants would be provided with an opportunity to evaluate the program via a referral received from an organization or an individual who holds a national reputation under the same career field as that of the candidate\u2019s profile.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Coleman further added that GTIP is aimed to precisely target the world\u2019s highly-skilled migrant individuals and is assisting them to get the best positions within Australia for increasing the overall competitiveness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">We certainly want to place Australia in the forefront, that is among the leading economies of the world. The program will allow local enterprises to make use of the world\u2019s most skillful talent which in turn will help to establish high growth industries across Australia.
