The Australian Government has introduced some changes for the applicant under subclass 189 visas which are applying from 1st July 2017. The same mechanism also explains NZ citizens GSM Pathway on the basis of their residency in Australia for the duration of five years. This illogical announcement is really unfortunate. On one side, it\u2019s sad news for applicants who are at the age of 45or above as they will not be able to meet the updated age requirement. On the other side, it\u2019s good news for NZ citizen as they can easily apply for GSM pathway with minor restrictions.<\/p>\n
Applicants aged 45 and above<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n This new rule specifies that applicants for a 189 visa reviewed from 1st July 2017 must be under the age of 45 years at the time of having an invitation to apply. Undoubtedly, it is going to apply restrictions on the permanent visa which is presently available to skilled migrants who want to move towards Australia. Applicants under the subclass 189, who had applied for immigration, will not meet the age requirement, if they are at the age of 45 or above 45 at the time of invitation. Applicants who are forced might be entitled to another visa together with Nominated permanent residence or may be permanent residence as per the Employer Nomination Scheme.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n NZ Citizens having 444 visas<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Now, special NZ stream will be available under the subclass 444 visa while applying for 189 visas. And, to meet this obligation, an applicant will need to show or demonstrate their common residency in Australia. This common residency should have a continuous duration of at least 5 years, just before the application date. This continuous period of duration should be started in Australia either on 19th February or before 19th February 2016.
