Current Government Fees required to be paid under various visas and permits for Canada Immigration is listed below:

Applications under Visas and Permits:

Different visas charge different fees for individuals depending on their age, lifestyle, work qualification, marital status etc.

  • Permanent Resident Visas:
    • Applicants for Family Class:
      • For each application under sponsorship: $75
      • For Principal Applicant: $475
      • For Principal Applicant who is younger than 19 years of age, is not a spouse or a partner, does not come under sponsored dependent child, an adopted child or an orphaned sister / brother / nephew / niece / grandchild: $75
      • For Common law partner, spouse or conjugal partner of the main, as in principal applicant and alternatively transitional provision is being applied, for the family member of the principal applicant who is either 22-years of age or above: $550.
      • For that family member of principal applicant accompanying him, who is below the age of 19 years and is yet to be spouse / common law partner or a member who is 19 years and above but is not able to support themselves financially before the age of 19 years because of mental or physical reason: $150.
      • Transitional Provision is applied to that family member of the principal applicant who is below the age of 22 years and is not yet married or in a common law relationship. It also applies to that accompanying partner who is or above the age of 22 years but is not able to support themselves financially due to reason related to mental or physical strength: $150 Note: Fees decided for the principal applicant and his / her accompanying family members are needed to be paid with sponsorship fees while filing for sponsorship application.
    • Investor, Self Employed or Entrepreneur Person Class Applicants:
      • For Principal Applicant: $1,050.
      • For Common law partner, spouse or conjugal partner of the main, as in principal applicant and alternatively transitional provision is being applied, for the family member of the principal applicant who is either 22 years of age or above: $550.
      • For that family member of principal applicant accompanying him, who is below the age of 19 years and is yet to be spouse / common law partner or a member who is 19 years and above but is not able to support themselves financially before the age of 19 years because of mental or physical reason: $150.
      • Transitional Provision is applied to that family member of the principal applicant who is below the age of 22 years and is not yet married or in a common law relationship. It also applies to that accompanying partner who is or above the age of 22 years but is not able to support themselves financially due to reason related to mental or physical strength: $150.
    • Federal Skilled Workers, Canadian Experience Class, Quebec Skilled Workers and Provincial Nominees:
      • For Principal Applicant: $550.
      • For Common law partner, spouse or conjugal partner of the main, as in principal applicant and alternatively transitional provision is being applied, for the family member of the principal applicant who is either 22 years of age or above: $550.
      • For that family member of principal applicant accompanying him, who is below the age of 19 years and is yet to be spouse / common law partner or a member who is 19 years and above but is not able to support themselves financially before the age of 19 years because of mental or physical reason: $150.
      • Transitional Provision is applied to that family member of the principal applicant who is below the age of 22 years and is not yet married or in a common law relationship. It also applies to that accompanying partner who is or above the age of 22 years but is not able to support themselves financially due to reason related to mental or physical strength: $150.
      • For Principal Applicant: $1,050.
      • For Principal Applicant: $1,050.
  • Temporary Resident Visa:
    • Single Entry into Canada: $100
    • Multiple Entry into Canada: $100
    • Transit visa applicable for less than 48 hours in Canada: $500
    • Visas de transit – moins de 48 heures au Canada: Free
    • Extending the authorization to stay in Canada as visitor: $100
    • Note: The total fees to be paid will not go beyond $500 per family if the accompanying family members apply for visa at the same time and place.

  • Work Permit:
    • Work Permits: $155

      Note: This fee is stated for per applicant. However, in case three or more performing artists along with their staff member apply for this permit at the same time and place, then the amount will not go beyond $465
  • Study Permits:
    • Study Permits: $150
  • Temporary Resident Permits:
    • Temporary Resident Permits: $200

Government Fees for applications filed in order to stay in Canada as a Permanent Resident:

  • Spouse / Common Law Partner in Canada:
    • For each application under sponsorship: $75
    • For Principal Applicant: $475
    • For Common law partner, spouse or conjugal partner of the main, as in principal applicant and alternatively transitional provision is being applied, for the family member of the principal applicant who is either 22 years of age or above: $550.
    • For that family member of principal applicant accompanying him, who is below the age of 19 years and is yet to be spouse / common law partner or a member who is 19 years and above but is not able to support themselves financially before the age of 19 years because of mental or physical reason: $150.
    • Transitional Provision is applied to that family member of the principal applicant who is below the age of 22 years and is not yet married or in a common law relationship. It also applies to that accompanying partner who is or above the age of 22 years but is not able to support themselves financially due to reason related to mental or physical strength: $150

      Note: Fees decided for the principal applicant and his / her accompanying family members are needed to be paid with sponsorship fees while filing for sponsorship application. Refund of the same will only be given if the sponsors take back the sponsorship application before the application process has started. Generally, refund of sponsorship fees amounting to $75 is not made.
  • Permit Holders Class:
    • Per Applicant: $325
      Note: Even in the case of inadmissibility of the Foreign National, applicant can garner Permanent Resident status from the Government on the grounds of public policy or for compassionate and humanitarian reasons.
  • Applying under Sec. 25 of the Immigration & Refugee Protection Act:
    • For Principal Applicant: $550.
    • For Common law partner, spouse or conjugal partner of the main, as in principal applicant and alternatively transitional provision is being applied, for the family member of the principal applicant who is either 22 years of age or above: $550.
    • For that family member of principal applicant accompanying him, who is below the age of 19 years and is yet to be spouse / common law partner or a member who is 19 years and above but is not able to support themselves financially before the age of 19 years because of mental or physical reason: $150..
    • Transitional Provision is applied to that family member of the principal applicant who is below the age of 22 years and is not yet married or in a common law relationship. It also applies to that accompanying partner who is or above the age of 22 years but is not able to support themselves financially due to reason related to mental or physical strength: $150.
      Note: Under this category, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration may grant Permanent Resident status, even in the case of inadmissibility of the Foreign National, on the grounds of public policy or for compassionate and humanitarian reasons.

Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)

  • Acquisition of Permanent Resident Status: $490
    Note: This government feesare to be paid by the main principal applicant and the accompanying common law partners and spouses. This fees need to be paid before garnering the immigrant visa for overseas or before becoming the permanent resident of Canada. The fees need not be paid by the following applicants:
    • Dependent and sponsored children of principal applicant, adopted child, orphaned sister, brother, nephew, niece or grandchildren.
    • Protected applicants including the Convent refugees.

Other Applications and Services

  • Restoration of Temporary Resident Status:
    • Processing fees of the Application: $200
  • Permanent Resident Cards:
    • Processing fees of the Application: $50
    • Replacement or renewal of the damaged, stolen or lost cards: $50
      Note:Permanent resident member who are currently outside of Canada and neither have PR card on them nor the immigration record of landing might have to apply for the travel document in order to enter back into Canada.
  • Verified status or replacement of Immigrant document:
    • Processing Fees of the application: $30
  • Applying for Travel Document
    • Processing Fees of the Application: $50
  • After Hours Examination:
    • For entering Canada apart from normal hours of service (to be paid at the time of the exams): $100
      Note: For first four hours of exam – $100, and thereafter every hour and a part will be charged at $30.
  • Alternative way of Examination:
    • Processing Fees of the application: $30
  • Statistical Data of Immigration:
    • Processing Fees of the application: $100
      Note: Accessing the database of the department for 10 minutes or less for responding to the request fed – $100, thereafter $30 will be charged for every extra minute.
  • Determining the Rehabilitation:
    • Processing fees of the application in case of the inadmissibility under serious criminal offence: $1000
    • Processing fees of the application on grounds of inadmissibility of criminal offence: $200
  • Authorization to Return to Canada:
    • Processing Fees of the application: $400
  • Repayment of Removal of Expenses:
    • For the USA and St. Pierre and Miquelon: $750
    • For any other country: $1,500
