Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) announced details about criteria for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, which re-opens for applications on May 4. The program has been narrowed to 24 eligible occupations. A list of eligible occupations can be found here. CIC will accept up to 5,000 applications, with a maximum of 300 applications per occupation. In addition, CIC will accept a maximum of 1,000 applications for the Ph.D. stream.
To be considered eligible to apply, applicants must possess at least one of the following criteria:

These four organizations have been approved to provide assessments of educational credentials:



Assessment reports of educational credentials issued by these organizations after April 17, 2013, will be considered valid for immigration applications for five years from the issuing date.

For the best possible chance of being selected, CIC advises applicants to apply as soon as possible.
