  • Express entry candidates with CRS 300 gets Invitation at last draw in Alberta|
Alberta released details of the latest draw in its popular entry-aligned provincial nomination stream. The June 21 draw yielded 262 interest notifications (NDI) sent to express entry candidates with a score as low as 300.   The Alberta Express Entry Stream allows the Government of Alberta to select eligible candidates with a profile in the federal Express Entry system, which manages the pool of candidates for Canada’s three highly skilled immigration programs: the Skilled Worker category (Federal), the Federal Skilled Trades Category and the Canadian Experience Class.   Provincial Entry Candidates with an Alberta Provincial Nominee receive an additional 600 points for their Full Ranking System (CRS) score and are guaranteed to be invited to apply for permanent residency in Canada at the same time. a later draw of the Express Entry group.   One of the key benefits of the Alberta Express Entry program is that it gives Express Entry candidates who score below the CBC the opportunity to obtain permanent residence in Canada.   The 300-point threshold for the June 21 invitation round in Alberta is significantly lower than the draws made through Express Entry even this year.   On May 15, the lowest score achieved so far through the Express Entry System was 332 in a Federal Government Skill Draw and 438 at the Exclusion Threshold for all programs. .   Other eligibility criteria for the Alberta Express Entrance Program include the requirement that candidates pursue a profession that supports Alberta’s “economic development and diversification priorities”.   The Government of Alberta has not listed eligible occupations.   Although a job offer or prior work in Alberta is not required to be eligible, the PIAA may give priority to candidates with the following characteristics:   an offer of employment and / or work experience in Alberta; a degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution and a valid job offer; or a parent, child or brother already living in Alberta.   The June 21 draw brings to 3,816 the total number of Express Entry nominees invited to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian Permanent Residency through the Alberta Express Entry stream. • Ontario: A recent draw begins attracting professionals in six technology sectors|
Ontario immigration must begin to focus on specific technology occupations in the latest technical issues of the Express Entry Pool. The draws are designed to fill the technology gap in Canada’s largest province.   The new technology draws will focus on six specific NOC codes, in keeping with the current human capital priorities of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (O.I.N.P).   The six professions are: Computer and Information Systems Managers (NOC 0213) Database Analysts and Data Administrators (NOC 2172) Web Designers and Developers (NOC 2175) Computer Engineers (NOC 2147) Programmers and Interactive Media Developers (NOC 2174) Software Engineers and Designers (NOC 2173)   Applicants must meet current human capital requirements and have qualified work experience in one of the listed occupations. In this way, we are helping technology companies find it easier to hire the best talent from around the world, “said an Ontario police release.   Selected candidates in the Express Entry Pool receive a Notice of Interest through their account in Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRC).   Then they have 45 days to provide a complete application. As part of the current focus on technology occupations, Ontario has also established a unique team of corporate immigration services.   The team plays a vital role in helping employers find talent solutions for immigration, according to the Ontario police release.   The dedicated team is at the disposal of employers to help them fill technical positions. Companies can also get the latest information on application processing times and appointments announced to date.   Requirements for Ontari’s Human Capital Priorities: The current profile under the Federal Express Entry system and is suitable for models F.S.W.P or C.E.C. • 3,600 entry-level applicants invited to apply for permanent residence at the largest draw since January|
3,600 invitations to apply for permanent residence in Canada were launched as part of the new Express Entry draw – the highest number of invitations issued in a draw since January 23rd. The draw CRS score in the July 10 draw was 460, a decrease of two points from the minimum of 462 in the June 26 Express Entry Draw.   The larger size of the draw reflects the higher admission targets set for 2019 and 2020 for the three highly skilled federal government immigration programs managed through the Express Entry system. These programs are the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Category and the Canadian Experience Class.   Express Entry also manages part of the Provincial Nominee Program, which also targets higher admission targets for 2019 and 2020.    Express Entry candidates are ranked based on scores for factors such as age, education, skilled work experience, and proficiency in English or French. Top ranked applicants receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence in Canada, or ITA.   Express Entry applicants invited to this day’s draw have 60 days to apply for permanent residence in Canada. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applies a six-month processing standard for express entry requests. IRCC has now issued 45,400 ITA this year. This places the ministry just over half way, exceeding the record 89,800 ITA issued in 2018.   Today’s draw represents an increase of 250 ITA from the 10 draws since January 30, each of which issued 3,350 ITAs. The lower limit score can be attributed to both its larger draw size and the fact that only two weeks have been allowed to pass between draws.   The last three draws were separated by an interval of two weeks and the limit score decreased for each from 465 to 462 and now to 460. On the other hand, the CRS cut reached 470 on May 29 after IRCC allowed nearly one month between draws for all programs.   IRCC tied the draw on July 11, 2019 at 12:27:18 UTC on July 10.   This means that all candidates with a CRS score greater than 460, as well as those with a score of 460 who entered their profile in the Express Entry group before that date and time, received an ITA. Calculate your CRS.   Here are hypothetical examples of candidates who would have won an ITA in the July 10 draw:   Ibrahim is 32 years old and holds a master’s degree. He has been working as a management consultant for three years. He wrote the IELTS and got an 8 in each category. Although Ibrahim never worked or studied in Canada, his security contribution rate of 462 would have been high enough to get an ITA in the July 10 draw.   Salim is 40 years old and holds a bachelor’s degree. He has been running his own e-commerce business for 15 years. He is married to Hannah, who is 32 years old and holds a bachelor’s degree and an additional post-secondary certificate. Hannah has worked as a teacher for four years in the last ten years. Salim and Hannah both have advanced English language skills and neither Salim nor Hannah have ever worked in Canada. They entered the Express Entry group with Hannah as lead applicant and scored CRS 460, which was high enough to get an invitation to apply for the July 10 draw.   “We were expecting an increase in the size of the draws given Canada’s higher admission targets for programs managed by the Express Entry system. It was great to see this happen at last, ” said David Cohen, senior associate at Campbell, Cohen, Cohen Canadian immigration law firm in Montreal.   “If this continues, the second half of 2019 could be another for the record books.” Read more »
  • Canada announces immigration route for construction workers|
Construction workers in an irregular situation in the Greater Toronto Area are in the process of obtaining an immigration stream.   Canada announced a temporary initiative to allow 500 out-of-state construction workers to appeal for RP Canada status. The initiative will be open to those hired in the construction industry in the Greater Toronto Area (G.T.A).   Reason for the introduction of an immigration route for construction workers  This program is launched later in the report to the Government of Canada, which represents the vulnerabilities of these out-of-status workers, despite their contributions to Canada’s economy. The report notes that because of their immigration status, these workers and their families are doomed to live in anxiety and the presence of construction workers out of their status leads to lower wages for Aboriginal Canadians.   The current immigration process is part of the Temporary Public Policy on Construction Workers who are out of status in the GTA. It aims to improve the protection of some of these construction workers and their families while protecting Canada’s labor market. This policy was not released until July 5, 2019. As a result, no further information on the program has been announced.   Construction workers who are suitable for the program have come to Canada through the legal channels of temporary workers, but previous changes to immigration programs have resulted in their withdrawal from the legal labor status.   Overall, it’s a Government of Canada decision, “said Ruairi Spillane, founder of Outpost Recruitment, one of Canada’s leading construction firms. These workers, who have been working in the construction industry for years, can work without worry and the wages of Aboriginal Canadian workers should increase.   Eligibility for immigration path  The program will provide 500 jobs to non-status workers currently working in the Greater Toronto Area. Prospective candidates will be required to register with the Canadian Labor Congress (CLC), who will decide on their qualification and return them to the immigration program.   Refugees, Immigration and Citizenship Canada (IRC) announced that more details regarding the applications would be announced during the week of July 22, 2019.   Stay up-to-date with our newsletters for the latest updates and information on immigration and visas. • Canada Updates List of Eligible Occupations for Global Talent Group|
Computer Network Technicians Added to List, Engineering Managers, and Architecture and Science Leaders Deleted   The Government of Canada has updated the list of eligible professions as part of its popular Global Talent Stream.   The update saw two occupations removed from the list of global occupations and the addition of computer network technicians (NOC 2281). \ The suppressed occupations were:   engineering managers (NOC 0211) architectural and science directors (NOC 0212)   Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), the federal department responsible for processing applications for the Global Talent Stream, said the update was necessary “to ensure that [the list] continues to reflect the Canadian labor market and the needs of Canadians. innovative companies. ”   The list of professions applies to category B of the Global Talent Stream. ESDC stated that it was determined that there was a high demand for workers in the listed occupations and an insufficient number of domestic workers with the required skills.   Canadian employers seeking to hire foreign workers on this list receive work permits that can be issued in just two weeks in exchange for a commitment to increase investments in the skills and training of Canadians and permanent residents.   Employers who use Category B can submit an easier Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) that does not require proof that they have tried to recruit Canadians and permanent residents of Canada.   LMIAs can also be processed in as little as two weeks. ESDC has stated that applications for professions removed from the list will be accepted until August 4, 2019.   Those received after August 4, 2019 will not be processed.   About the global talent flow  The Global Talent Stream provides Canadian employers in the fields of Information Technology and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with easier access to temporary foreign workers with experience in the listed occupations.   Canadian employers have used this component to hire approximately 24,000 high-skilled foreign workers since its launch in 2017 as part of a two-year pilot program. • New Manitoba draw issues 354 invitations to immigration candidates|
Manitoba sent 354 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination from Canada’s permanent residence in a new draw held on July 5th.   Invitations, referred to as Nomination Letters (LOIs), were sent to the Skilled Worker Overseas, Manitoba Skilled Worker and Manitoba International Nominee Program (MPNP) International Education candidates.   The MPNP allows Manitoba to nominate foreign workers and international graduates of post-secondary institutions in the province as permanent residents of Canada.   In 2018, the MPNP published a record number of applications in its various immigration streams, the vast majority of which were destined for candidates in its skilled trades stream.   Here is how the LAAs published on July 5 were divided between the three components concerned: Skilled Workers Overseas Stream: 248 Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream: 85 International Education Stream: 21 According to the MPNP, 91 AALs were sent to candidates with a valid profile in the federal Express Entry system.   Express Entry is the leading source of highly skilled foreign talent in Canada and manages the pool of candidates for three of Canada’s largest economy-class immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Skilled Trades Category (Federal)  and the Canadian Experience Class.   Provincial entry candidates with a provincial nomination receive 600 additional points for their ranking score, effectively guaranteeing an invitation from the Government of Canada to apply for permanent residence.   In order to be considered for a provincial Manitoba application, Express Entry applicants must create a separate Expression of Interest Profile with the MPNP and meet the requirements that include six months of recent work experience in the field. a profession listed as in demand in Manitoba.   The completion of an EOI is the first step for most subgroups of skilled workers in the MPNP. It requires candidates to enter information about their training, work experience, English or French proficiency, and their relationship with Manitoba, among other details, and are assigned a score based on their responses.   Candidates with the highest scores are invited to participate in the regular draw of the Manitoba EOI Pool. The minimum score required for a July 5 draw in Manitoba was: Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 565 Skilled Workers Overseas: 594 Skilled Workers Overseas: Strategic Recruitment Initiative candidates: 619   This draw brings to 5,333 the total number of AJAs issued to skilled immigration applicants in 2019. • 51% jump in desis getting Canadian ‘green card’|
MUMBAI: The interest of the Indian diaspora (including the US-based diaspora) in obtaining permanent residence in Canada continues unabated. In 2018, more than 39,500 Indian citizens obtained permanent resident status in Canada under the express entry system (this represents 43% of the total number).   According to recently released statistics, Canada has admitted more than 92,000 new permanent residents in 2018 through its rapid entry system, an increase of 41% over the previous year. Permanent residence is similar to a green card in the United States.   The year before, in 2017, Canada had admitted almost 65,500 permanent residents on the express access route, 40% of which, or 26,300, came from India. The number of Indian citizens who will be granted permanent resident status in 2018 has increased by 51% over 2017.   Interestingly, China, ranked second in 2017, slipped to third place with only 5,800 Chinese having permanent residence in 2018. Nigeria was in second place. The number of invitations sent to Chinese citizens showed negative growth. (See the table)     In previous editions, YOU explained how Indians working in the United States faced issues such as H-1B visa delays or refusals, green card arrears, or even the proposed revocation of the H-1B visa. right of H-1B wives to work, translates into a migratory flow to neighboring Canada.   People in India are also increasingly turning to Canada for employment or permanent employment. The Global Talent Stream, which had recently moved from pilot status to a permanent program, allows Canadian companies to hire expatriates with STEM training within two weeks. This should increase the number of Indian employees in Canada. In its April 10 edition, it was stated that GST workers could opt for permanent residence.     Express Entry is a system used by the Canadian government to manage permanent resident applications from skilled and qualified workers through three economic immigration programs. As part of the Express Enrollment program, candidates complete an online profile and are placed in the Express Entries group and ranked against each other based on their scores in the Full Ranking System (CRS). CRS considers the existence of an offer of employment, its age, its training, its professional experience and its skills in English and French. Those who exceed the limit (1,200 maximum) are sent “invitations to apply” for permanent residence.   “The principal countries of citizenship based on those admitted to Canada generally reflect those of the invited candidates. Nearly half of those admitted in 2018 were Indian citizens, “said Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, Canada’s immigration division, in its year-end report, Express Entry, recently released.   In 2018, 41,675 invitations (46% of the total) were sent to Indian citizens. In 2017, out of a total of 86,022 invitations, 36,308 or 42% were sent to Indians. Express prints are organized periodically. The most recent took place on June 21, with a CRS threshold of 462 points and 3,350 candidates will be invited to become permanent residents.   Overall, Canada’s multi-year plan for immigration levels is committed to welcoming more permanent residents (including for humanitarian reasons) over a three-year period. It has set a target of 3.30 lakh for 2019 and 3.40 lakh for 2020. Read more »

The Canadian immigration process is a point-based program. This allows the applicant to pre-determine their eligibility for immigration. The regulating body for immigration in Canada is Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC). IRCC has several immigration pathways for an immigrant to apply for various kinds of visas. If the immigrant is looking to settle in Canada on a permanent basis, getting a PR Visa is the best option to go for. Some of the immigration programs for Canada PR Visa are as follows:

Express entry program is the most popular immigration program for Canada PR Visa. It is the fastest program to get hands-on Canada PR visa with an ideal application taking around 6 to 8 months. A point-based program managing the profiles of the immigrants who have applied under Canada’s three skilled economic immigration programs – Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).  With the help of Comprehensive Rankings System (CRS), Invitation to Apply (ITA) is issued to the express profiles with the highest rank. ITA allows the applicant to apply for Canada PR Visa to the IRCC.

The minimum requirements to immigrate to Canada from Pune through Express Entry program are as follows:

  • Immigrant’s age must not be less than 18 years of age at the time of the submission of the application. The ideal age to apply is between 18 to 35 years of age. This age group awards the candidate with maximum CRS points.
  • The minimum requirement for education is to have a Canadian higher secondary education equivalent certification i.e diploma or degree.
  • Immigrant needed to have a minimum of one year of work experience in a skilled occupation that is categorized under National Occupation Classification (NOC) skill type 0, A or B.
  • For language proficiency, the immigrant is required to have at least 6 per band (Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing) in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for the English language.
  • The immigrant will be required to clear the 67 eligibility points system. In this system, points are awarded to the immigrant’s profile based on the selection factors like age, language proficiency, work experience, work experience, adaptability, and arranged employment.

There are other major immigration programs like Provincial Nomination Program (PNP). It is for immigrants who want to settle in a particular province. For this, they have to fulfill the requirement of the respective provincial nomination program (PNP). Each PNP has a different requirement that is basically dependent on the demands of the provincial labor market. Express entry candidates can apply for a provincial nomination if they are successful to land a provincial nomination; they are awarded 600 CRS points for the same.
